Saturday I got my paperwork into the office, while I attended training, for my CA life license. I was waiting to get the $284 together for the past month & 1/2. Now it's time to hit the books hard and be ready for the test when I'm given the all clear to take it. I also have been prospecting all this time and set up my first interview for Monday 7/25 at 6:30pm with Greg. The guys excited as anything and doesn't know much of what we do, just someone looking for an opporunity. We'll be filling out his IBA tonight, that's how I'm feeling. He works at his family store and, "don't want to be there the rest of my life," perfect we can help!!!!!

Charlie & the Chocolate Factory

On Friday night we had a good time going to the mall and visiting the arcade while Mommy was getting her nails done. Not a bad choice for $10, and the kids got a free game of Air Hockey out of the deal. Then we ate and it was off to the drive-in. A great place to see a movie, (also low budget, at least out here) only $16 for the 5 of us to see 2 movies (Adults $6, Children over 5 $2). What to say about this movie? Will I'll start with I didn't want to see this at all, but when you have a wife a kids that do you're kind of out numbered. So I decided I would enjoy them and as it turned out I enjoyed the movie as well. We were told this one followed the book more closely, and with some of the effects in the movie I believe it. For the most part if you saw the first movie (Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory) you could tell what was going to happen next, but you couldn't imagine to what extent. Johnny Depp did a great job of acting, made you think Wonka was a psycho. It had some really funny parts in it, the kids liked it and we (Tina & I) were happy with it, too. Go see it for yourself, it won't be a waste. The second movie was Fantasic 4 and being that we had seen it, we left early because Tina & I were tired.

Madagascar

GREAT MOVIE!!!!
On the way home from Old Town Sac. we took a small detour and saw Madagascar. We've been wanting to see this movie for a while now, but never got the chance. This is defeatly a most see for you and your kids, a great movie to take the grand-children too. Just good clean fun and it moves along nicely. Just like the Sherk movies Dreamworks did it again. Putting a movie together that is for kids but entertaining for the parents is such a tall order, but they seem to have the order down. MaKayla was laughing alot through the movie and really didn't lose interest in it at all!!!! A perfect ending to a hot day outside!!!!

Waterfront Festival

Bridge-to-Bridge Waterfront Festival to Offer Aerial Stunts,
A Giant SCUBA Tank for Kids and the Fastest Boats on the Planet

Sunday we had a day for the kids. At 12pm we set off for the Waterfestival down in Old town Sac.
We parked and made it to the riverside by 1pm, just in time to see the Red Bull Jump. Next was suppose to be a Police Race, but as time went on I didn't ever think it was going to start. 10-15mins standing in the 100+ degree sun is a long time. We did see a couple boats do some speed passes infront of us, but it was taking to long for them to set up for the amount of time you see the boats full thottle. So we decided to walk around Old town and look at the boats not in the water (the kids liked that better). We walked in and out of different shops just looking at things and enjoying the day. So, events we going on. One was a guy that lite himself on fire and jumped about 30ft. into a 9-10ft. pool of water, PSYCHO!!! Unfortunately we only got video of that!!!

The Feeling of Power :

Got this in an email and thought it was funny:

I was getting ready for work when I looked out the window and saw the utility company starting to erect a pole in front of my house. They were going to position it directly in front of my picture window.

No way, absolutely no way was I going to permit this. I gulped down my last bit of coffee and went directly to the crew supervisor and told him in no uncertain terms that I was not going to permit his crew to put that stupid electrical pole directly in front of my picture window.

He took out a map for pole locations and a right of way document and explained that it is the best location for it. I told him it is not the best location for me and when I came home from work that day I did not want to find that pole in front of my window.

I told him I didn't give a hoot where he put it but not in front of my window. I felt pretty smug as I drove off to work because I felt I got my point across. I know darn well they are afraid to put it there now.Ahhhh..... the feeling of power............

FISH ON!!!!

The Saturday of July 9th, 2005 Dad says we are going to do some SERIOUS fishing, so I said ok. We set off at about 9am with the boat and headed for the Feather River. We did some shopping for live bait first so we didn't get to the river and launch the boat until about 10:30am. He first took me on a tour up stream ("That way if the engine breaks we can float back to the can", he said) to the falls. We put our poles in the water around 11:30am, in a well known catfish hole. All we got was our bait taken. So we decided around 1pm we would float down stream and do so drive-byes, using so crank baits and spinners hoping for some small mouth bass action. All we came up with though was a junk fish, that Dad didn't even know what it was. So, we get the call we've been waiting for!! Dad friend Dave calls and we set up to meet him back at the house. When we get back we rearrange everything and head to the Sacramento River, on the way getting bait again; this time chicken livers. We launch the boat and get to a good catfish hole around 5:30pm. Not long after being there Dad says, "Fish On", which became our theme for the day. He pulls in a 18" Striper (a type of Bass) with chicken liver for bait; that's not what you usually catch Striper on, but he did. So, he reties his bait and 10 mins. later, Dad says, "Fish On!!!!!" This time he said it wasn't as hard to reel it in, just heavy (Striper like to swim back and forth). Heavy alright this 5lb Catfish filled our net (I think we need a bigger net), we were excited. Then, no more bites, and I kept getting snagged and losing everything I had on (we were set up with a good size hook, a 1.5oz egg sinker, and the chicken liver). So we moved, next Dave said, "Fish On!!!!" He reels in a 2lb. Catfish. By this time it's getting dark 8pm, so we head back to the boat lauch area. Right next to it there is a damn release, so we parked by there in hopes I would get my fish here. Well same story for me as all day, kept losing everything, but now it was dark. So, I tied everything on one last time at about 10pm, then it was my turn, FISH ON!!! I reeled is a 1-1.5lb Catfish and was happier then anything. The good Lord blessed us on that day!!!!!! We ended the trip with cleaning the fish at home and got to bed around 1am.

John 3:16

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Mars!!!

The Red Planet is about to be spectacular!
This month and next, Earth is catching up with Mars in an encounter
that will culminate in the closest approach between the two planets
in recorded history. The next time Mars may come this close is in
2287. Due to the way Jupiter's gravity tugs on Mars and perturbs
its orbit, astronomers can only be certain that Mars has not come
this close to Earth in the Last 5,000 years, but it may be as long
as 60,000 years before it happens again. The encounter will
culminate on August 27th when Mars comes to within
34,649,589 miles of Earth and will be (next to the moon) the
brightest object in the night sky. It will attain a magnitude of
-2.9 and will appear 25.11 arc seconds wide. At a modest
75-power magnification

Mars will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye.
Mars will be easy to spot. At the beginning of August it will rise in the
east at 10p.m. and reach its azimuth at about 3 a.m. By the end of August
when the two planets are closest, Mars will rise at nightfall and reach its
highest point in the sky at 12:30a.m. That's pretty convenient to see something
that no human being has seen in recorded history. So, mark your calendar
at the beginning of August to see Mars grow progressively brighter
and brighter throughout the month.

Share this with your children and grandchildren.
NO ONE ALIVE TODAY WILL EVER SEE THIS AGAIN

Fantastic

What more can we say about the movie? We all went to see the movie
on Friday night, and it wasn't wasted. Now, I can't really be one to help
out on the accuracy of this movie to the comics, because I never followed
the foursome. But as far as how the story plays out and the acting, I felt it
was done very good. The graphics we great and made you believe that
it could be possible. Does it rank up there with us like Spider-man?
Close, the story was lacking something, but not knowing them as I did
Spider-man could be the reason. Defently one for the family,
especially the kids!!!

Our first place we own that we'll call home

We got a chance to see the 5th Wheel for the first time on Monday 7/11 and loved the outside. This Sunday we'll get a chance to see the inside, but from what we here from people that know the owner (Mike), it's going to be nice and well taken care of.
